9-10-15 -kb swings, 4x50, 24 kgs
It was supposed to be a rest day, so a little something before some straddle stretches.

9-12-15 -thrusters, 3otm, 15 mins -Lsit side to side pull-ups, 5x6 -ATFLBR 20 -headstand, tekpi -straddle stretches
I'm trying to be more consistent with the stretching. I was content with being flexible enough for an old guy, content with the fiction "Yeah, I used to be able to do that," but that's not really flexible is it.

9-14-15 -thrusters, 3 OTM, 14 mins, -ATFLBR 20 -Lsits2spu, 4x6 -headstand -straddle stretches
So I was feeling strong, then at the 14th set of thrusters I felt a twinge in the hip. Time to stop and reassess.

9-16-15 -Thrusters, 4 OTM, 7 mins, 3 OTM 2 mins -ATFLBR 20 -Lsits2spu, 4x6 -Headstand, frogstand, tekpi -swiss ball, pseudo planche push-ups and holds -straddle stretch
So I changed the work rate a little bit by adding one rep to each set of the thrusters, while keeping the rest time constant. The result was that I burned out at 7 mins. dropped back to 3 reps, but I was done.

Maybe change it up weekly with more or less rest and reps? That way you can build up some more "work capacity" on the thrusters.

Yup, yesterday was an attempt to mix it up. I also watched this clip yesterday. It makes me feel as if I need a testosterone supplement. youtu.be/LIonFYrV_po9-17-15 -kb snatches, 100 -straight arm flies A rest day for contemplating workout intensity.

I've forgotten what I've done since my last post. There were definitely db C&P's and pull-ups. Oh well.
9-28-15 -28.5 kgs db burpee with single arm C&P, 2x20 -pull-ups, ATFLBR
This, more than the db C&P's really put a hurting on my legs. Funny, because the weight is near halved. It made for good cardio though.

9-29-15 -burpees, 28.5 kgs, single arm C&P, 10 burpees on the minute, 4 min -frog stands, pseudo planche leans, headstand, tekpi -straddle stretch
I've been looking for an everyday exercise, something I wouldn't need a day off for recovery. I'm thinking maybe the single arm db C&P burpee. Got a nasty stomach cramp while doing the pseudo planche leans. It's probably from the Lsit pull-ups yesterday. It's weird because when my stomach cramps it's just one box, and looks like a goose egg sits right under the skin.

I know I am the pusher but Leopard/Spider-man crawling you can do daily and if you drag a sled/chain it is a butt kicker.

10-7-15 -uneven db cleans, 8x5, 68lbs +58 lbs -frogstands, headstand, tekpi, neckbridge
Last night was a dojo night, and as per every dojo night I didn't sleep well. After all these years, I'm still not used to the adrenalin rush. I'll get home at 11PM, have a bite and wind down. Next thing you know it's 3AM, time for bed. It's not a winning routine.
So," what's up with the uneven db cleans?" you may be asking. They're my sandbag shouldering substitute. One of the positive aspects of lifting sandbags, I've heard, is that the uneven distribution of weight presents a balance challenge to the grip and core. Using two differently weighted db's simultaneously is not exactly like lifting a sandbag, but they do challenge the grip and core.

ahh beer. I'm getting old. Beer and wine keep me awake if I have more than a glass or pint, and who just has one?

I've been laying low due to a bout of the man flu. Today is the first not feeling sorry for myself, so I eased into the training that I've been avoiding.
