OK no worries. Was going to plan around not taking you over but if you're not there we'll stick to the norm.

Thursday, Enshin TrainingBalls out sweat-fest tonight! Quick warm up and then straight into 10 reps of all kihon strikes, blocks and kicks except for the odd thing that we did 20 of and mawashi geri where we were meant to do 50 (10 Gedan, 10 Chudan, 10 Jodan, 10 Chudan, 10 Gedan), unfortunately someone wasn't giving it enough effort so we had to start from scratch after about 30 ish Partnered up and did ..... Hiki kazushi, Mawashi geri X 20 Hiki mawashi, Hiza geri X 20 The pads came out and we did.... Mawashi geri/Ushiro mawashi geri (like in Green belt kata(Left leg/Right leg then Right leg/Left leg)) Mawashi geri/Ushiro mawashi geri (like in brown belt kata(Left leg/Left leg then Right leg/Right leg)) Kata time, Green belt kata to the count and then block format. I was surprised to see the cards come out at this point, jogging and exercises depending on the card drawn. Thankfully there were only 2 jokers tonight. Sparring drills next, 20 seconds lower grade attacks and higher grade defends, 20 seconds higher grade attacks lower grade defends and last 20 seconds alternating attacks. 3 goes at this. Then we finished (I say we, what I mean is most people. Injured people(one of which was me) sat out) with partner burpees. One person does one, then the other and so on. Felt good to be back in the Dojo and the knee held up well

I was surprised to see the cards come out at this point... Surely you jest? ;D Well there're normally at the beginning or the end. So it threw me a bit with it happening in the middle

Saturday, Enshin Training Sweat, Sweat and more Sweat today 20 Mins Bagwork (the usual close range, long range, Max 5, Exercise, pulling each other round) The difference today was there was an odd number so some times 2 people had hold of one and were trying to take each other over, Not fun! Next two people got the kick sheilds and the others took it in turns to stop the padman with a Mae geri then turn and Ushiro geri. Similar but this time the stopping kick was followed by a ushiro mawashi geri Last one was Mawashi geri then turn and do ushiro mawashi geri off the same leg Next we each took it in turns to be "on" for a minute and everyone else took it in turn to attack. There was far too much standing around for Gary's liking so while we waited we did 2 jump squats trying to touch the ceiling. We were "On" twice Next we took it inturns to be "On" again (for a minute) but this time the opponents grabbed and tried to take you over. Once again it was a cracking session, great start to a sunny saturday

Afterwards I have to say it was, during it doesn't seem it And I forgot to mention that I have stored away a couple of things to be used when sparring next (possibly)

That was a great little tip at the end from JS. Definately something to work on. I may keep it for the Saturday squad to see if it pays dividends when used against the others.

We got back from training last night and Ros spent half an hour composing the funniest, well written training log she's ever done (or so she tells me). The Forum then had a technical issue and she lost all of it so......... Monday, Enshin trainingStarted off with a quick warm up Got into lines and from fighting stance did 20 reps of...... Front Punch (Left foot front X 20 then Right foot front X 20) Front, Reverse (same as above) Front, Reverse, Shovel (same as above) Front, Reverse, Shovel, Hiki mawashi(through 180 degrees), Hiza Geri (Alternating Left foot front then Right) Front, Reverse, Shovel, Hiki mawashi, Hiza Geri, Mawashi geri (same as above). I was shocked at how exhausting this combo is The pads came out and we partnered up and did the same as the last drill but against an opponent (10 to the count) Same again but as many quality ones in 1 Minute. Same again but this time added a take down at the end Next the pad man stood on one leg with the pads up for a Mawashi geri, the idea was the kicker had three kicks to off balance them. Each kicker had a go with both legs and with each of the pad holders. Then the Padmen gave the pads to their partner and they went round each pad holder and did the same. We got our mitts and pads and stuff and had several rounds of Lower grade attacks for 30 seconds, Higher grade attacks for 30 seconds, alternate attacks for 30 seconds. Finished of with various exercises, One armed press-ups (5 off each side), Hand clap press-ups (5), normal press-ups(or Knuckles) (20), Pistols(using the wall bars for help) (5 of each leg), Jump squats (10), squat kicks (40), Table top sit-ups (20), V sit-ups (20). Osu! Monty

Everyone seemed to be pouring with sweat last night. The temperature was up in the dojo after a sunny day outside. I grabbed Ros by the neck to demonstrate something and her hair was wetter than an Otters pocket.
I really enjoyed coaching last night. A tight group and everyone trying their best. Good stuff!
