Cool Monty! Any chance one of you will become a Sensei for the club? I am sorta sitting in a similar boat. The older guys are "retiring" and leaving it to us to carry forward.. It's kindof Paul and I doing stuff on a saturday and if anyone wants to join in they can. We don't teach per say but more offer advice when we see things that could be improved. I'm certainly not in a position(or ,to be more precise, of the required standard) to run the club and with Paul's work he cannot be there all the time. So for now it'll just be ticking along as is. It'll be interesting to see what happens later in the year when Alex emigrates to the US. He is so motivated and on mornings when I think shall I or shan't I, I remember that Alex (79 years young) has left his house at 06:00 to drive to loughborough to train . Anyhoo, Saturday, Dojo training4 of us today Warmed up with what might be construed as the Enshin warm up(if you were looking at it from a funny angle) Next we went through the Kihon Kicks and included some Mawashi geri / Ushiro mawashi geri over squatting partners head. We then split into pairs and Paul and I did the attacks (5 times each move) for white belt kata and green belt kata for Dave and Alex respectively. I then bowed out to hot foot it to Leicester and left the other three continuing with kata.

Saturday, Dojo TrainingHad a couple of weeks off due to going to watch the scottish open and then some shitty weather. 4 of us at training on Saturday, we did a quick warm up with the cards then did 20 minutes speed play on the bags(with some kata thrown in for good measure). Next we worked on some take downs. The sad news is that Alex won't be training with us anymore (reasons not mentioned as it's not my place) So as a Send off he sparred all of us..... twice !

Saturday, dojo training
Paul, Dave and I today.
Started off on the bags, 45 second rounds X 6
Next we did ladders 1 to 5 of mawashi Geri on the bag (both sides) .
We then did similar with Mae Geri but with the pads rather than the bags.
We then worked on white and blue belt Kata.

Saturday, dojo training
Paul, Dave, Ros(for the later half) and I today.
Warmed up doing all the kihon strikes, kicks and blocks.
Next we did a kicking drill to work on distancing, one person kicks Mae Geri and their partner moves just enough backwards to avoid it then throws their own Mae Geri and the partner moves backwards enough to avoid it and so on.
Ros then joined us and we did some 'hit what the padman gives you'
We then did burpee/mawashi geri X 2
Next we did some mawashi geri kicking the pad out of the padman's hands.
Then it was mawashi Geri/ushiro mawashi Geri with a focus pad.
Followed by hiki mawashi/hiza Geri, hiki kazushi/mawashi Geri.
Finished with some standing broad jumps and forward rolls.

Saturday, dojo training
Ros, Dave and I today.
Warmed up with the cards.
We did all the kihon strikes and blocks and just some of the kicks.
Next we did White Belt Kata to the count twice.
I was then the attacker for white belt Kata with Ros and Dave doing each move 5 times.
Then we went all the way through the Kata with me doing the attacks for each of them.
Next we did loads of hit what the padman gives you.
Finished with some mawashi Geri/ushiro mawashi geri. Turns out Dave is rather good at Jumping spinning back kicks! 😁

Even though no one is reading this... Sat 12th, Dojo trainingRos, Dave(in body if not in mind) and I today. Warmed up with some three punches, Low kick, knee kick, high kick Raced through the strikes and blocks basics Moved on to Kata and did white and blue belt kata to the count and with attacks Next we did hit what the padman gives you Sat 19th, Dojo trainingFull house the week Paul, Dave, Ros and I. Warmed up with Cards Then blasted through all the basic strikes blocks and kicks We then worked on White belt kata mainly with a bit of blue at the end. We did it to the count and then with attacks. Then Ros and Dave did the attacks for white belt for Paul and I (so they can learn(remember in Ros's case) what the attacks are in the kata). Next Paul and I did Blue Belt kata with attacks so Ros and Dave could see them. We all tried Blue belt together. Then Paul and I did Brown belt kata to the count, We then did loads hit what the pad man gives you with various techniques and Combos. Eventually looping back round to the start and did the warm up combo at full power(with a take down at the end).

Saturday, Dojo trainingRos, Paul and I today. Warmed up with the cards. Next we did several 30 second rounds on the bags, each one of us coming up with a combination for everyone to do. We then did Kata, White, Blue, Yellow, Green and Brown. Ros even had a go at Brown belt, there were some mistakes but not huge ones We finished with Hit what the padman gives you, with the added fun of the people hitting the pads stood with their eyes closed until they were pushed by the padman. Then they open their eyes and react as quick as poss.
