Alex and I today, warmed up with the cards just 1 to 5.
Then, as Alex has been on hols for 6 weeks, we went through all the basics. Took a bit longer than i expected.
Then we did white and blue belt kata with attacks and to the count. Glad to see how much he'd remembered.

Saturday Dojo Training
Paul, Alex and I today.
Warmed up with some ...
Three punches, Low kick, knee kick, high kick Then added a takedown on the end
We then went through all the kihon strikes, blocks and kicks(apart from side and back kicks)
That took a lot of time, so we just did 10 mins speed play on the bags
Finished(cooled down) with White, Blue and Yellow belt kata

Saturday, dojo training
started off with the basics, whipped through the majority of techniques but slowed down when we got to the hijiate, shuto, and shita tsuki so we could help Alex with his technique.
we then did some mawashi geri/ushiro mawashi geri over squatting partners head.
next was hit what the pad man gives you.
the rest of the session was working on kata against an opponent, white and blue this week.

I tried to look up Enshin rolling throw with no luck. Is it like the hip throw or shoulder throw of Judo, or more like a sacrifice throw ( sode makikomi)?

I tried to look up Enshin rolling throw with no luck. Is it like the hip throw or shoulder throw of Judo, or more like a sacrifice throw ( sode makikomi)? Im trying to find a good way to describe it... Imagine someone doing a diving forward roll. Now imagine someone standing next to them before hand with a hand hooking their neck and the other hand grabbing the gi sleeve Hand 1 pushes the neck down and the other hand pulls the other arm up. Causing the throwee to do a diving forward roll.

Here meguro. It is called makikome nage and I would guess it comes from sode makikome.

Oh this is good news! I also find that the throwee ends up rolling on their side :-)

Wow! So completely different than what I imagined, a sacrifice throw (thrower does a side roll while trapping throwee's arm). Actually Silat has 4 basic variation of this, depending on where you want the throwee's to fall (forward, backward, left, and right). Nice vid, btw!

Nice. The Ryu Sui Kata is fun to work on and even more fun with a partner.

Then blue belt for Alex, 2nd dan for Paul and black belt for me. I then bowed out and left Paul an Alex going through yellow and green belt Kata.
